Having witnessed the aftermath of Katrina via the media (TV, newspapers, radio, etc.) one has to wonder: what caused more damage to the Gulf Coast? Hurricane Katrina and all of her destruction, the Democrats looking to further their agenda of making President Bush look bad, or the innumerable thugs and looters taking advantage of a tragic situation for personal gain? The were reports that these thugs were firing upon rescuers trying to get to and help the victims. That's real smart, idiots! The Democrats so despise George W. Bush that the liberally biased media stood by as Screwy Louey Farrakhan tossed allegations that Bush had explosives strategically placed to blow the levees that held the water out of New Orleans. He claimed this because New Orleans is predominantly black, or as New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin called it "a chocolate city," insinuating that Bush (and therefore conservatives) was a racist. The liberals were crying that Bush didn't send FEMA in soon enough and that caused further hardships for the recovery process. That's true, FEMA's delay did hinder the rescue and recovery process, but Louisiana Democratic governor Kathleen Blanco was to blame because, when asked if she needed federal aid, she told the Feds to wait an additional 24 hours before she made her decision. Nice job, Governor! With a governor like you, I am glad I live in Georgia. Mayor Ray Nagin certainly deserves to share the blame because he refused to issue a mandatory evacuation of the city because it would have hurt the downtown businesses. Maybe he wanted to make sure those businesses had enough campaign contribution money for his upcoming re-election bid (which he won). |
