Don Imus vs. Rutgers University (and Al Sharpton)

Don Imus, morning radio and TV talk show host, hung himself out to dry.

The day after the women's NCAA basketball championship game – which pitted Rutgers University against the perennial powerhouse University of Tennessee women's basketball team coached by the legendary Pat Summit – Don Imus and his producer were talking about the game.

The producer said something to the effect that the Rutgers' team were tough-looking with all their tattoos, calling them "tough hos." Imus responded with the now infamous quip, "They're nappy-headed hos."

Uh-oh! Can't say something that might offend someone, so Al Sharpton thrusts himself – again – into the spotlight demanding an apology and the firing of Imus. Let the race-baiting and hate-mongering begin.

Where does Al Sharpton get off chastising someone else for making racial comments? I mean, Don Imus doesn't have blood on his hands like the "reverend" Sharpton.

Everyone needs to keep one thought in mind when trying to solve the racial problems in our country – something a black woman who worked with my father in the early 90s once said: There will never be an end to racism because there are too many people who make too much money off of it.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are two of these people. They do not want to end racial strife in this country because they would soon be in the poorhouse.
