International Monitors*

*This cartoon was drawn before the election, as sort of a prediction.

As a result of the narrow Republican presidential victory – and overwhelming Republican victories in the Congress – in 2000, the Democratic National Committee distributed talking points to all of its talking heads and spin doctors calling for a closer eye on the voting precincts to ensure that no one was turned away. You see, the Democrats still cannot get grasp the fact that George W.Bush won the presidency fair and square.

No, I didn't vote for Dubya in 2000; I voted for Harry Browne, the Libertarian candidate. But that's another story. However, in 2004, I did vote for Dubya because I felt John Kerry to be soft on terrorism, and in these post-September 11th* days, that is a bad move. Again, that's another story.

Ever since I first learned about the electoral college in elementary school, I have always watched the returns on presidential election night, understanding that the electoral college is what decided who won; not the popular vote. And because of that knowledge, I was prepared to accept Al Gore as president, though I'm glad he lost because I feel he wouldn't have done quite as good of a job as Bush did dealing with terrorism after the terrorist attacks.

It seems that after the 2000 fiasco, liberals need to go back to elementary school. Or at least mine – which, by the way, was Oak Grove Elementary School in Roanoke, Virginia.

Because of the conjured claims of "disenfranchisement" (please see this cartoon for more information) from the Left, the liberals from around the world, especially the waste of premium parking space United Nations, were demanding that the United States allow international monitors to come in and monitor our election.

Now why on Earth would they demand that? It's not like we go in and monitor the elections of France and Germany.

Simple: they didn't – and still don't – like George W. Bush because of his defiance of the United Nations and taking the matter of defending America into our own hands. They didn't like that he did not acquiesce and ask permission to defend ourselves as if it were an Earth-sized game of Mother May I.

The despotic United Nations despises the United States because we have the most freedom and because we are the richest nation on the face of the Earth. Sounds kind of like class warfare to me. What do you think?

Simply put, the international community did not want Dubya to win because he would not kowtow to them and the United Nations, but John Kerry, self-admittedly, would have.

*I will not call it 9/11 or 9-1-1 because those monikers remove the importance and meaning of that unforgettable day. Much like Americans have lost the meaning of Independence Day by calling it the Fourth of July, or the events of December 7th, 1941. When you ask someone today what July 4th means to them, they'll usually answer "a day off work", "family picnic" or "vacation." Americans, in general, have become so oblivious to our country's history and take our freedoms for granted, I would venture to say that if we had to fight the American Revolutionary War today, America would lose because we have been lulled into comfort by our government.
