| After the Islamic terrorist attacks of September 11th, Arizona Cardinal defensive back, Pat Tillman (#40) made a decision. A decision that I personally don't think many would make: he turned down a multi-million dollar contract so he could join the Army and become a Ranger alongside his brother. Think about that for a moment. He turned down a luxurious lifestyle so he could fight to defend his country, exchanging potentially millions in return for roughly $18,000 per year. There are some things you just cannot put a price on. Unfortunately, Mr. Tillman was killed in Afghanistan in April of 2004. He paid the ultimate price fighting for the ultimate prize: Freedom. After Mr. Tillman's death, a vile, insipid liberal cartoonist by the name of Ted Rall drew a cartoon depicting Mr. Tillman as a brainwashed idiot who got what he deserved. Those nasty comments were made all because Ted Rall opposes our military's presence in Iraq. Truth be known, Rall probably is against our military, period. I could not stand idly by and watch the good name of Mr. Tillman be defaced in that manner, and there was only one word that truly described Mr. Tillman: Hero. Thank you to all the men and women who don the uniform of our military and put themselves in harm's way. God bless you all! |
