| 2004 marked the arrival of the long-awaited memoirs – and subsequent book signing tour – of former president, Bill Clinton, titled, "My Life." At least the members of the media were waiting for it. Every day, everywhere you looked – except Fox News Channel and talk radio – people were eagerly anticipating the book and cheering Clinton, as if they were lining up in order to plant a puckered puss on the hind quarters of the man they so dearly loved and – thankfully – missed. The media were fawning over the return to the spotlight of their anointed amoral ally. Clinton this, "My Life" that. It was an endless media frenzy of universal proportions. At least it took the spotlight away from John Kerry's coronation at the Democratic National Convention. No matter what Bill Clinton does with the rest of his life, and no matter what the media try to do to erase history, he will always be the second president to be impeached. Oh, and he was disbarred from practing law, too. |
