In a move, perhaps to put more conservatives in place within the federal judicial system, George W. Bush fired eight U.S. attorneys. Mind you, these people were appointed to their positions; positions that are political in nature. People in these positions can be hired and fired on a whim for whatever reason the President deems. Since it is the plan for the Democrats – and the Democrat-supporting media – to keep the President boondoggled by a scandal, any scandal, up until the 2008 elections, they jumped on this bit of news like Rosie O'Donnell on Tuna Casserole Night at the All-You-Eat buffet. The "scandal" was that because he fired so many attorneys at one time, he must have been trying to cover up something, like the secret wire-tappings that scandal broke a while back. The Democrats and RINOs (Republican In Name Only) in Congress started demanding hearings and investigations. For what??!! These positions, as stated before, are political positions, and the people in these positions can be hired or fired at the President's discretion. But the Democrats and their media allies would have none of it. They had to make Bush appear corrupt. The had to make him, ergo the Republican Party, seem as vile and distasteful as possible to enhance their own chances of conquering the White House in 2008. What you didn't – and won't – hear in the media or from the Democrats is that in 1993, after taking the Oath of Office, Bill Clinton fired all 93 U.S. attorneys. Alas, no scandal then, so there should not be a scandal now. But then again, it is not the media's job to make Bush come across as normal. |
